That night we kissed, then said goodbye,
I waved my last farewell.
Not ever would we kiss again,
Ship's captain rang the bell.

She sailed away, I wept my tears,
Love lost had come too soon.
I'll not forget that night of pain,
'Neath weeping, white full moon.

I walked the darkened road back home,
With memories, I knew,
Of days gone by filled with her smile,
And love, that had been true.

My heart so pained, it nearly burst,
Eyes flooding with my tears.
And though I prayed she would return,
It's now, too many years.

The nights of tears came to an end,
But memories won't, so soon.
I'll not forget that final kiss,
'Neath weeping, white full moon.
