This is the first poem I have ever written,
Although I have written others before now,
But this is the first
Because it is the newest,
Because it is the hardest one to write.
It is born from emotions that waited
In the untouched regions of my heart
To be discovered by you,
My brave explorer,
My daring prince
Who struggled through strangling vines
And unforgiving thorns,
Who climbed my fortress walls
To reach my slumbering soul within.
I slept without knowing it
Until you kissed me to life.
You've awakened me!
(and still I dream)
This is the first poem I have ever written
Because I have only now begun to live.
