As the cold wind blows through the trees
The Smiles on peoples faces die
And as they turn their heads and look up
They see the grey, dull sky
The Kids pray for snow
The adults pray for heat
And as the animals shiver in the cold
They pray for something to eat
What a time winter is
So bleak, mild and rough
The wind hits you like a punch
And the sky is hard and tough
The Woodlands glisten with white
And shine the low December sun
Everything is silent and still
As if the world had just begun
Skeletoned Trees stand there
Stripped of all there armour
And in the feilds can be seen
The odd sheep and farmer
Winter is here
let's just let it flow by
For one day we know Spring will arrive
And light up that darkened sky
